Auntie Emy's Birthday!!!

We were lucky enough to have Emy and the kids down during the week of her birthday!  It was so fun to spend time with them!  We love you Auntie!!!!  Hope your day was awesome!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

FHE to Daybreak 9-26-11

We have been having so much fun this summer going on bike rides as a family.  Since we got our bikes we have been out riding them everyday.  I have been taking Tyson to school on my bike pulling the kids in the trailer behind me.  That has definitely been a workout for me and fun for the kids.

This particular evening we decided to take a ride through Daybreak for FHE.  There is a nice man made lake there with paved pathways all the way around it.  Perfect for Tyson since he has his training wheels on at this point and great for the bike trailer so the ride wasn't so bumpy for Karissa.  It was perfect weather for it, not too hot and not too cool and at the end of the ride the kids got to feed the ducks. 

FHE kite flying 10-10-11

Well, we tried to fly our kite this year.  For FHE we decided to take it out before the weather got too cold.  Unfortunately there wasn't much wind and it was a bit chilly out so our adventure was short lived, but we had some fun trying to get it to stay up in the air!

Halloween bat craft 10-7-11

This was our first craft for the fall and Halloween season.  I let the kids create their own bats using little paper cups, paint, construction paper, googly eyes and pipe cleaners.  They had a ball creating them and then showing them off.  Karissa loved hers so much that it had to be with her wherever she was.

Karissa needed a little help with hers, but Tyson did his all on his own.

She HAD to have her bat hanging on the chair while she colored.  She would get very upset each time it fell off.

Painting Pumpkins 10-13-11

Ah, yes, the painting of the pumpkins; some paint, various styles of brushes, smiles, messes.  Yep, the perfect recipe for fun masterpieces!  The kids loved this activity and surprisingly neither one of them go too messy.

FHE Pumpkin picking 10-17-11

I LOVE the fall; the colors, the cooler weather, the smell of pumpkin spice.  It just gets me in the baking mood, I love it!  I especially look forward to our pumpkin patch adventures every year!  The kids love to run down each row in search of the perfect pumpkin.  Tyson looking for the biggest pumpkins and Karissa looking for the smaller ones.  It is always fun and exciting for the kids and I just love to watch them!

Halloween cookies 10-18-11

We started a tradition a year or so ago of making Halloween cookies to decorate.  Karissa is finally old enough to participate in all the fun this year, which she LOVES.  They both did a great job creating their masterpieces and then devouring them.

Halloween Costumes 10-28-11

Tyson and Karissa got to dress up twice this year, once for the school carnival and again for Halloween of course.  We had been asking Tyson for months what he wanted to dress up as for Halloween and everytime it was the same answer, a ghost.  How easy could it get, right.  Well Ben and I decided to make his costume out of some white fabric.  Of course we waited until the night before to put it together, but with Ben's and Tyson's help we got it done and it turned out well.  Ben helped with the design, I did the sewing and Tyson did the tearing. He was a pretty cool ghost, although he is not wearing his hood in these pictures.

Karissa costume was pretty much a no-brainer.  Her cousin Katelyn had given her this little fairy outfit a few months ago, so we just used that.  It was fun to dress her up and do her hair, although she didn't want to leave most of her costume on.  Oh, well, at least she looked cute for the pictures!
