Sock puppets 2/3/12

 

This project was so much fun!!!  I had some socks where one of each pair had holes in the toe, so the good ones were turned into sock puppets.  Tyson decided he wanted to make his into a snake and I just made a "girly monster".  Once they were complete, we had a puppet show.  Tyson loved setting up the stage and together we put on our own show.  It was a blast!  I LOVE these special times with the kids!

Making Valentines 1/31/12

The great thing about winter is that it's a perfect time to get creative and make lots of crafts.  Valentine's Day was coming up, so it was time to make valentines.  I found some fun glitter glue pens to use for these, cut out some hearts and let the fun begin. I had Karissa work on hers while Tyson was in school, then that afternoon while Karissa was napping Tyson had his turn.  Lots of fun!

Making a Special Birthday Sign for Daddy 1/11/12

Daddy's birthday was coming up, so we decided to make him a special, personalized birthday banner.  I printed out some letters and let the kids do whatever they wanted on them.  I pulled out the paint, stickers, colored macaroni, markers, etc. and let them go at it.  They had a great time and even managed to keep their banner a secret from Daddy until his birthday.  It was fun project for a cold winter day! 

Tyson & Daddy wooden car project 1/8/12

Ben has been working on various projects with Tyson and this was the latest.  It is a wooden car kit from Lowe's and Tyson did all the work.  He did a great job and was so proud of the finished product!  Awesome work, Buddy!!!

Planet Play 3-11-12

Sledding 3-2-12

FINALLY, we had a snow storm that actually produced enough snow to go sledding!  After I picked Tyson up from school and gave the kids lunch we got dressed and ran out to play in the long awaited snow.  We have a great sledding hill right across the street and we were the only ones out so we made all our own runs! The kids had a blast and I definitely enjoyed myself as well, especially since I had the right snow clothes to keep me warm and dry!!!  I was pretty worn out by the time we were done from dragging Karissa up the hill each time in the sled but oh so worth it!!!  We played for at least two hours before heading inside for hot chocolate.  What a perfect day!
