Tyson's 1st day of Kindergarten 8-3-11

I can't even begin to explain how hard it was for me to have Tyson start Kindergarten.  I have been dreading this day for the past few years!  He was SOOOO... excited which made things a little easier for me, but I was still an emotional wreck.  I did manage to hold back the tears until after I dropped in off and made it back to the car....BARELY!  Just before he lined up to go inside he was tripped and hurt himself which made him cry.  I almost completely lost it when I saw him crying but I stood back and let his teacher, Ms. Calhoun, comfort him.  I handed him his backpack, told him I loved him and stood back.  I wanted so much to just take him home right then, but I knew I had to let him be.  To try and keep my mind off of worrying about how his first day went I went and got my hair chopped off and colored.  It was nice to pamper myself a little and be a bit distracted from missing my little boy but I couldn't wait to pick him up.  

I arrived at the school a little early to pick him up and when he finally came out he came running when he saw me with a HUGE smile on his face.  He told me he had a great day!  That of course made me feel better about sending him to school.  I just hate how quickly he is growing up!  I love him to death and want the best for him, so I need to step back a little and let him experience life, learn and grow.  I just wish time would slow down a little!

I love you, Tyson!  I am so glad you had an amazing first day of school!  I hope your love of school and learning continues!  You are one amazing little boy and your dad and I couldn't be prouder!
