This was Tyson's last soccer game for the season.  By the last two games he was actually asking to go back in the game when it was his turn too sit out.  He was much more aggressive than he was during his first game, but he still would much rather chase around his team mates then worry too much about where the ball was.  He was having so much fun and that is all the matters!  He was especially excited to receive his participation trophy at the end.  One of the other moms on our team even bought cans of Silly String for the boys to "slime" each other at the end.  Tyson wasn't too keen on being "slimed" himself but he was more than willing to "slime" daddy or grandpa or whomever was within range. Soccer was a great experience for Tyson!

 The little soccer ball even lights up when you spin it.  Tyson spins it every night as he is lying in bed.

Wheeler Farm Field Trip

I have been a bit of a slacker when it has come to taking pictures of Tyson at preschool, I missed taking pictures the first day.  I have to admit that it was hard to drop him off that morning but he is loving it.  We are involved in a neighborhood co-op preschool with six other boys from the ward.  We have had school at our house several times now and it has been fun for me.  So far everything has gone smoothly.

These pictures are of our first field trip when we went to Wheeler Farm.  We got to feed the horse, pet the goats, sit on the tractors, look at the pigs and feed all the ducks and geese.  In my experience geese are not the most friendly birds but the ones there were pretty tame.  There was another large school group there as well and I didn't notice any geese chasing any of the kids.  They would get right up to us as we fed them. 

When our wanderings were over we had a nice picnic lunch then the boys milked the "cow".  As you can see it's just a surgical glove filled with milk, but the boys thought that was pretty fun. 

First official soccer game

This was Tyson's first official soccer game.  The first game scheduled was cancelled due to the fire we had here then the opposite team forfeited the second game.  Tyson had several melt downs during the game because he couldn't kick the ball.  He thought everyone should have to take turns.  What can I say, he is not an aggressive kid.  When he did play he was pretty entertaining though.  Anytime someone would fall down next to Tyson he would sit on them.  He thought he was being funny but I don't think the other kids appreciated it too much.  At least he is not a heavy boy!

First day of soccer

We signed Tyson up for soccer this year.  Our whole team was made up of boys from our ward.  It was pretty cool having all boys that Tyson knew from church!  Tyson had a blast his first day.  They are pictured here with their original uniforms.  Unfortunately we ended up having to change to florescent yellow.  We went from being the "Pumpkins" to the "Slimers", but the kids didn't care.

Camping Sept. 2010

We went camping in September up Big Cottonwood Canyon.  It sure was cold but it was so much fun!  We went with some friends from our ward.  Since Karissa isn't sleeping through the night and it was so cold, Karissa and I drove home and slept in our warm beds.  We went back up in the morning and joined everyone for breakfast.  Afterward we let the kids spend some time throwing rocks in the the stream and then we went on a short hike.  We had a great time and are looking forward to more camping next year!

Tyson's 1st Fishing Trip

Tyson got to go fishing for the first time.  We called up Uncle Rob and went to one of the local lakes.  Tyson only fished for a short time.  He thought that playing with the worm and climbing the nearby tree was much more exciting!                                                                              

He loved playing with the worm.  Didn't matter whether it was half or whole.

I know it's just a worm, but mom wouldn't touch it!

Halloween crafts

It has been so fun making a few Halloween decorations with Tyson!  He has had so much fun and we have more planned!!!  Our first project yesterday was to make the cheesecloth ghost.  Tyson helped me drape the layers over a balloon and a couple of water bottles.  We had to wait several hours for that to dry before he could put the eyes and mouth on.  Next, we started on our spider by taking an egg carton and cutting it into individual cups then painting them black.  We left those to dry over night then this afternoon we added our legs and silly eyes.  Mine is the only one in the first picture because Tyson was napping with his (he loves it that much).  It's so fun to watch him learn and have fun with mommy!!!
